Google

Now this is not a joke, it seems like all Google search results are marked as dangerous site and have a warning (”This site may harm your computer.“) All search results are denied access.

At first, I thought my computer got infected by virus. So I tried Google searching on different computers, but the same results came out.

Hopefully Google responds to this quick.

Yesterday I was googling some internet problem and found that Google now includes detailed information of posts on popular forums (replies, last updated dates, and popularites). (See it in Action)

The original post I found was “Yahoo Search Update September 6, 2008″from WebMasterWorld Forum. Other proved supported forum frameworks include vBulletin, phpBB, and Discuz.

However, not everything forum is benefiting from this improvement and not every post on one forum is benefiting. Only popular forums and popular posts have detailed info listed on Google search.

I personally think this feature has a great future, and I expect more posts to be included.

Rogers recently replaced all ‘Cannot Find Server’ page due to mistyped web addresses to a Rogers-Yahoo searching page which provides website suggestions.

For example, when Rogers user mistyped ‘Google.com’ as ‘Google.cim’, the browser will automatically redirect the keyword as a search request to ’search.rogers.com’. This searching service is provided by Yahoo!, and contains ads.

This feature might be a great idea for future Firefox update, but only change the search engine to Google.

To celebrate the release of Firefox 3.0, MoZhi Internet (Chinese Firefox Marketing Company) announced the new mascot of Firefox in China, the G-Fox.

The letter G has different meanings, such as ‘good’, ‘great’, ‘guide’, or ‘gateway’. The G-fox represents that Firefox is a ultimate web browser.

Google just releases its first service after they bought Wiki service provider Jotspot, Google Sites. It is a part of the Google Apps. It allows you to build a site to centralize all types of information, from text, videos to presentations. You can also set read permissions to restrict your readers. You can also invite other people to be editors of your site.

Remember, you need an Google Apps account (free ones are okay) to register for Google Sites.

The “Call For Free” function made its debut on Google Maps back in 2005, which allowed people to call advertisers for free. However, Google canceled this service in July of 2007. Now Google started to test this “Call For Free” function on its advertising platform, “Google AdWord”, where advertisers can submit a phone number along with their ads. When web surfers browse the ads, they can simply click on the call button to contact the company for more information.

Here is a video demo shows how this function in real life.
